His Christmas Miracle Love in Montana Book 5 edition by Dani Collins Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
A stand alone read with a HEA. This is a story of Christmas miracles. Not what you might expect. A young woman, 26, has returned to Marietta from California. She had high hopes of becoming an actress. All she really experienced was low end jobs, rejections at auditions and living in sub-standard conditions because of a lack of money. She has given up on the Hollywood dream and is returning home to try and figure out where her life is going. She has taken a course in nursing care and thinks this may be her future. She has an interview in a small town near her home town giving care to a diabetic older gentleman and the childcare of a young 4 year old boy. The job is only for a month but it will help her with her money issue and will give her a little time to see what is next.
The hero of the story is a full-fledged, card carrying INTROVERT If you are one, or you know one well, you will understand where this guy is coming from. Being one, I can understand his thoughts and feelings, etc. It is tough being an introvert in a world that is mostly extroverts. They always think they need to get you out in social situations and be like them. It just won't happen but still most don't understand they are who they are, love them or leave them!! But you cannot change them.
This guy found out that he had a 4year old son that he didn't even know existed. The mother was killed and her adopted parents just did not want to raise another child. They feel the girl got pregnant on purpose so that she would have a child of her own. He met her on line and he thought they were progressing in their relationship when she told him it was over and he never saw her again. He was a bit hurt because he had feelings for her and thought their relationship was fine!! Like most guys, he didn't have a clue!!
So, the heroine gets the job taking care of the grandfather who is really in good shape except for his high blood pressure and his diabetic situation. He is on a pump but he has some high blood glucose levels. She knows just what to do to get that under control. Plus, he is a very nice man and easy to work with. The child is a sweetheart. He is smart, a little quite but easy to understand since he has just been thrown into living with his father and grandfather and he doesn't know either one. The heroine is perfect for this newly formed family. It is a month away from Christmas and she sets out to bring the spirit of Christmas back to this family.
It is a very good story. Not really sweet or innocent but along those lines. The sex is about a 1 so it is nothing to get upset about but there is a little bit of sex in the last few pages of the book. Most of the book is the hero and heroine growing past their past issues and seeing where their future is going. It is an enjoyable, interesting read. Some good thoughts for all as the characters develop and grow. The child was delightful and plays a very interesting role. I would definitely recommend this book. It is fun to go back to Marietta once again.
If at first you don't like Quincy, give him a chance. It is not easy being an introvert in a world full of extroverts, most don't have a clue there is a big difference in the way these two personalities are wired. What seems like distant and cold is just the way he is wired. So, give him a chance to let his feelings find their way.
I was not paid for this review. I am not an author nor do I know one. I am not kin to this writer. I am a reader and this is my opinion, nothing more, nothing less. 9/19/17.
I love Christmas stories. Happy, sad, cheesy...I pretty much love them all. Nikki Darren has spent years in California trying to make it as an actress. After her agent told her that she was dropping her because she was too old (at 26!), she decides to return to Montana. Needing money desperately, she accepts a short-term job as a nanny/caretaker for an elderly man and a young boy. Quincy Ryan has just learned that he has a son. The boy's mother has died and he is now responsible for a child he didn't know existed. His father has left Philadelphia to return to his boyhood home of Marietta, Montana and Quincy decides to follow. Hiring Nikki Darren for the month of December should give him time to adjust to fatherhood and get his life back on track. Or will it? This is a nice feel good story. The fact that it is a little too cute and sweet would bother me if it was anything but a Christmas story. But, since it is...*sigh* I liked it.
Sexual situations may offend some readers
Dani Collins has done it again. Another beautiful and heartfelt story under her belt. I've read several and have yet to come across a story that didn't tug at my heart strings and get my eyes all misted up before it was over.
Just in time for Christmas, this one features a newly minted father to a son he didn't know about and a quirky young woman looking for a place to belong. On top of loving a surprise baby story "His Christmas Miracle" had another thing I love in books. A closed off and gruff hero with a heart of absolute gold. Quincy was fabulous! At first he came across as a dick but there's wonderful layers to him that get peeled away the longer heroine Nicki is around. The idea of Nicki blowing in with her charm and holiday spirit to help this new father bond with his adorable son Atlas was very endearing.
4 year old Atlas stole the show in EVERY scene with his precious speech impediment that was spelled out exactly how it sounded. To me, there's just something so freaking adorable about kids who can't say their hard "R" words. It just makes me want to squeeze the crap out of these sweet beings and that feeling was brought to the forefront for me during my reading experience. Watching Nicki bond with the little boy, especially with all he was dealing with, just melted my stone cold heart. The romance between Nicki and Quincy was a slow simmer and wasn't really the main focus in terms of intimacy because their friendship took a while to develop but it was so well done and emotionally gripping as is this author's trademark.
If you want a story that will make you smile, laugh, swoon and say "Awww" then not only will "His Christmas Miracle" do the job but any of Collins' Marietta Montana romance books will also.
I loved this story until it got muddied up with unnecessary sex.
